Many of the family photos that I have collected over the years have been worn or damaged. Before the digital era, photos were very susceptible to being folded, scratched, torn, cut or water damaged. During the process of digitization, I have repaired hundreds of family photos. Here is an example of a photo of my brother and I that I restored and digitized.
